Students will learn the music of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Count Basie, and Shelby's original compositions.
Satisfactory music reading is required.
The focus will be on blues, swing, and ballads.
Instrumentation:
alto sax, tenor sax, clarinet, baritone sax, trombone, trumpet, violin, piano, bass, and drums.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 4 - 6 pm
Dress rehearsal and final concert - TBA
Open to Ages 11 to 18.
Ages 18 to 25 admitted on a space available basis.
