Students will learn to play the blues by learning and practicing the basic elements of the blues-rhythms, scales, chord changes, call-and-response structures, melodies, and lyrics. Students will also learn about the African roots of the Blues and how, through the generations, the Blues became the foundation for so much popular music in the U.S. and around the world, including jazz, rhythm & blues, rock 'n roll, spirituals/gospels, and hip-hop  No piano experience required.
